AVIATION IS RICH WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO TEACH SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS CONCEPTS AND PRINCIPLES WITHIN AN ENGAGING, PRACTICAL SUBJECT MATTER. JOIN AVIATION EXPERTS AS THEY SHARE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXCITEMENT FOR AVIATION AT THIS YEAR'S YOUTH EXPLORING AVIATION EVENT.
WHAT YOUR CHILD WILL EXPERIENCE:
· EXPLORE THE MANY DIFFERENT CAREERS IN AVIATION
· LEARN WHAT MAKES AN AIRPLANE FLY
· INSPECT THE PARTS OF AN AIRPLANE AND THE INSTRUMENTS
· GAIN AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE FORCES THAT ACT ON AN AIRPLANE IN FLIGHT
· HELP PERFORM A PREFLIGHT ON A GENERAL AVIATION AIRPLANE
· BUILD A MODEL FPG-9 GLIDER AND TEST FLY IT
LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED.
AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE YOUTH EXPLORING AVIATION EVENT THE LOCAL EAA766 CHAPTER IS PLANNING ON HOLDING A YOUNG EAGLE FLIGHT -- WEATHER PERMITTING. THE YOUNG EAGLES IS A PROGRAM CREATED BY THE US EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATION DESIGNED TO GIVE CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 8 AND 17 AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE FLIGHT IN A GENERAL AVIATION AIRPLANE WHILE EDUCATING THEM ABOUT AVIATION. THE YOUNG EAGLES PROGRAM IS OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE WITH COSTS COVERED BY THE VOLUNTEERS. PARENT OR GUARDIAN APPROVAL IS NEEDED.
