Aviation History in Sheboygan County and in the southern area of Wisconsin is a treasure trove of discovery. And at it's epicenter is the Aviation Heritage Center of Wisconsin. What an opportune time for anyone involved in historic research to open that door for visitors at the Center to explore this vital link to our past.
From the early Pioneer days, when barnstorming Pilots flew through this part of our state landing in fields to give rides and demonstrations, to the Golden Age of aviation of the late 1920's and 30's with historic names like Waitkus, Brotz, Thompson and Kohler, who established the foundation for success in aviation for this area. And to the succeeding years of aerial growth throughout southeast Wisconsin. There are many great stories to be told and boundless information to pass onto our future generations.
We, at the Center, are now on the verge of a great exploration of our history. This is our time to fulfill part of this facilities mission: To share our Aviation Heritage.
