Aviation History Takes Flight in Sheboygan! Tour the Legendary C-54 “Spirit of Freedom”
The Aviation Heritage Center of Wisconsin is thrilled to welcome the historic C-54 “Spirit of Freedom” to Sheboygan from July 18th to 24th! This incredible aircraft played a crucial role in World War II and the Berlin Airlift, delivering vital supplies and hope to millions. Operated by the Candy Bomber Foundation, the C-54 isn’t just an airplane—it’s a flying museum honoring the courage and ingenuity of an extraordinary generation. Public Tours – Friday & Saturday (July 18-19): *Explore the interior of the C-54 and learn its heroic story of the Berlin Airlift and the famed Candy Bomber, Col Gail S. Halvorsen *Admission: $5 per adult, $2 per child, with a family max of $15 *Hours: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM both days Don’t miss your chance to step aboard this legendary aircraft and experience history up close! Group Tours by Appointment – July 21-23 (Mon-Wed): From Monday through Wednesday, the C-54 crew will open the aircraft exclusively for group tours by appointment between 10 AM and 4 PM. These special tours are perfect for companies, schools, veterans’ organizations, scouts, or civic groups looking for an unforgettable educational experience.
